Nestled in the heart of nature

Jezera is the smallest and oldest village on the island of Murter. It is a traditional fishing village where the locals are mainly engaged in fishing and tourism. In recent years, it has developed into one of the strongest fishing centers in Central Dalmatia.

If you want freshly caught fish, simply head to the waterfront where you can buy fish directly from fishermen just arriving from the sea, and then prepare it on the grill in our yard. You can also enjoy local delicates and regional specialities in the many restaurants in the village.

Escape the hustle of city life

Jezera and its harbor are located in a bay protected from wind and waves. The first written record of Jezera dates back to 1298, so you can still see old stone houses and charming narrow streets.

One of the highlights of the village is the traditional dry-stone building “Pudarica”, built in the local arhitectural style. It is easily reachable via a scenic path through olive groves. Once there, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding islands.

New adventures around every corner

If you’re adventurous, you can hike the entire island along the coast in one day. The circular route around the island is about 38 km. We reccomend you to start from Jezera and end in Tisno, returnig via the seaside promenade. The island is cisscrossed with gravel paths passing through olive groves bothered by dry-stone walls, ideal for hiking or cycling.

Escape the hustle of city life

Like every Dalmatian town, Jezera and the rest of the island host various summer festivals featuring popular Croatiand singers, bands and traditional klapa groups. Jezera is also an ideal base for exploring some of Croatia’s most beautiful cities, towns, islands and national parks. Out of eight national parks in Croatia, four are nearby: Kornati National Park, Paklenica National park, Krka National Park and Plitvice Lakes national Park.
